Meet Our Doctors
Dirk Schrotenboer, O.D.
I grew up living in Zeeland, Michigan and enjoyed playing sports at Zeeland High School. I did my
undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and then received my
doctor of optometry degree in 1976 from Illinois College of Optometry.
Since my wife and I always loved Holland,
I decided to start a practice here, and we are still here today. In
providing eyecare to my patients, I most enjoy the one on one
interaction of helping to solve their eye and vision problems. The
trust that patients put in their eye doctor gives me enormous
satisfaction as well as a significant responsibility. Being “over 45”, I certainly have some great perspectives on presbyopia and how to prescribe glasses and contact lenses for “mature vision” challenges. Lakeshore
Eyecare Center staff and doctors are all truly committed to providing
first class eyecare services.
Andrew Roubos, O.D.
I have been fortunate to spend the last ten years of my professional
life partnering with Dr. Schrotenboer and our excellent team at
Lakeshore Eyecare Center. I was born and raised in Michigan, so when I
settled my family into Holland upon graduation from optometry school,
it felt like coming home. I am both a proud Michigan State University Spartan (B.S. 1992), and an Ohio State University Buckeye (O.D. 1998)
which makes for some interesting (and usually friendly) rivalries with
my Wolverine friends, neighbors and patients. I am interested in all
aspects of primary eye care, but I particularly enjoy working with
children. I have two sons of my own, and love to coach them in the
various team sports that they play.
My hobbies include golfing,
boating, running, playing basketball- basically anything that keeps me
active and outside. I also enjoy time with my family, friends and
church activities.
Rebecca Jacquemin, O.D.
I grew up in Cedar Springs, Michigan then attended Hope College for my undergraduate studies. After graduating from Hope (summa cum laude, BS Biology 2002), I spent the summer working at Lakeshore Eyecare Center as a technician, gaining valuable experience for my optometric education.
I lived the next several years in Dublin, Ohio while attending The Ohio State University College of Optometry (magna cum laude, O.D. 2006). Here I met my husband, Mike, a born and raised Buckeye, who was easy to transplant north after experiencing the uniqueness of the Lakeshore Area. We currently reside in Byron Center and enjoy boating, fishing, camping, cross-country skiing, and all that West Michigan has to offer.
